Sunday 3rd February 2019

On Sunday 3rd February a group of friends from Oldswinford Hospital School & Stourbridge Rugby Club U15s will be "braving the Shave" for 2 causes very close to their hearts.

On 26th April last year, their class mate & team mate Thomas Mole sadly lost his battle against a extremely rare immunity disease after being cared for during his short illness at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. This week, Tom would have been 15 and the boys have decided that shaving off all their hair will be a fitting way to celebrate and remember Tom's life.

In addition, a parent of one of the boys is also battling a recurring Cancer and again, this close knit group of lads are rallying round to support their team mate in anyway they can. For those unable to "Brave the Shave" several of the boys are now sporting very bright pink hair!!

The hair shave will be taking place at Stourbridge Rugby Club on Sunday Feb 3rd and will begin at 10am.

This is an event that the boys have organised themselves from the concept, the date, the setting up of the donation page and approaching their schools for permission. In fact for several of the boys the hardest part was persuading their parents it was a good idea!!

If anyone would like to support the boys in raising money, there is a just giving page that be found by searching Ben Taylor. All money raised will be split equally between Cancer Research UK and Birmingham Childrens Hospital
