We all know that Level 4 rugby is uber competitive and can often be likened to a jungle. Indeed, we only have to look at Leicester Lions two weeks ago, Sedgley Tigers last week and now Sheffield Tigers who are waiting in their lair this weekend, ready to snarl and devour any prey that pass their way!
Tigers are supposed to be an endangered species but not so those who call Dore Moor their home. Although they lie in 8th place, our hosts have had a tough start to the current campaign losing against three out of the top four sides but now riding high after a hat trick of wins. These include a 100 point extravaganza away at Macclesfield (45 - 55) and the ever tough trip, last week, to Luctonians when they came away with a 33 - 44 victory. This included 5 penalties kicked by Mark Ireland who is currently in 4th place as one of the top scorers with 75 points. Indeed, Mark has 116 league appearances to his name and 1,130 points scored including those for Kendal and Otley.
Stourbridge are hoping that the bruising encounter against Sedge will not impact too much for Mitch and his selection options but, if you want to witness a true spectacle of rugby, there are still places available on the supporters coach.
