Injuries and absences mean that selection dilemmas continue for Mitch and his team ahead of this important local derby against South Leicester who lurk in 6th place with seven wins and a draw to their name.
They drew against Sale who have been our toughest opponents thus far and also beat Sedgley Park in a 47 - 37 spectacular. However, the most notable result was a home win against league favourites Tynedale. Danger man is Ricky Aly whose tactical and place kicking puts him as top points scorer in the league and possibly the difference between 6th place and 9th!
Whilst the front eight have remained reasonably consistent, this week sees Joe Heatley starting at 9 - but a position he is well used to for British Police - and newcomer Robbie Forbes starting at 10 following his debut, 2 weeks ago, at Full Back.
Steve Leach returns to the centre having stood in for Sam Pailor at 8 but we have a new full back starting this week in the form of Nick Mann. In spite of his father being the club doctor, Nick has had some glowing reports following his time with The Lions and it is great to see another home grown talent make it into the squad, along side the likes of Charlie Jeavons- Fellows, Josh Trinham, Ben Tibbetts et al.
Kick off is at 14:15 and there may still be time to book a place on the supporters bus. However, this will not be a game for the feint hearted and is one where anything could happen!!
