Passing and Grids This Week

It was all about passing with the micro’s this week and some tagging off the coaches as well; Joe being the latest coach to be gentle coerced into being a hula hula girl with a rather fetching tag skirt. Introduced this week were tennis balls to given them something else to heighten their catching abilities and build on their hand/eye coordination; the smaller balls also seemed easier to throw at the coaches too!

Given that passing was the main aspect, the cup this week was awarded to an excellent passer which was Seb (right); well done Seb.

Over in U6’s we used the grid rotation again incorporating tagging/dodging, passing (including receipt of pass), introduction to a game scenario as well as defensive lines with some of the 6’s organising their lines themselves. Scall introduced the player passing to a player in Sharks Vs Pirates, Rob and I introduced passing backwards consistently in Pass the Parcel and Simon introduced the game scenario. The games were tailored to the players which allowed us to work more closely with certain players and challenge others.

The U6 cup was awarded to Freddie (left) this week, this was given to him for an all-round great session and it was only his second. Well done Freddie.
