Tagging This Week After a Few Weeks Off

We changed tact a little this week and ran the session with 2 team to carry on the theme of teamwork and introduce a little competition between the micros; as it was a tagging based session, this also gave the micros a team to focus on when they were going for the tags. The coaches felt that this was one of the best tagging sessions we have run, we were so pleased with the micros commitment, listening and how well they tagged. Special mentions to Quinn who got his first 2 tags on the bounce, Oliver R who got his first tags since joining a few weeks ago, Ronnie and Rowan who were the stand-out defensive duo in Sharks Vs Pirates, Riley for his helping with a new micro again and Louie for being the first micro to communicate in-game with Tom. All micros this week were outstanding so well done.

We also introduced (for the eagle eyed supporter) 3 Vs 2 tag, with Rob’s red team having 2 micros and Rich’s blue team having 3; both teams performed really well and the reds didn’t seem phased by having 1 less micro.

The listening cup was won this week by Callum, who has come on leaps and bounds since joining a few months ago; Callum’s listening was particularly evident in-game with Sharks Vs Pirates where he made several good runs. He seems to have found his own style where he waits for the taggers to come to him, identifies space very quickly and then goes for it.

The second cup this week was for the best Pirate (this game being based on dodging, evasion and finding space) and this was won by Callum’s brother William. William showed very good all round skills during the session and was particularly good at changing direction mid-run when the space closed.

Well done to both Callum and William and a very well done to every micro this week.
