Catching This Week

This week the U6’s were playing games and we welcomed back the assault course designed to help them be comfortable having their tags taken. The assault course games introduced the idea of passing immediately once they have their tag taken as this is a key element of games going into U7’s next year; we reinforced the pass call and most of the players waited until they heard the call which is pleasing.

We received some very good feedback from the coaches who were running the game also with many of the players scoring, finding space, tagging and some passing backwards too which is great to see. The coaches awarded 2 certificates this week to Wilf (left) and Huw (right.) Wilf was chosen because of his great communication with his team mates in the game scenario and his awareness of his team mates, electing often to pass rather than run himself. Huw was chosen as he demonstrated great sportsmanship during the game scenario to both the opposing team and his team mates reinforcing the teamwork ethos we teach every week. Well done to Huw and Wilf.

The micros this week concentrated on passing the ball to the coaches and each other which resulted in some great passes to hands; the certificate was awarded to Chloe who the coaches considered to have the best passing technique. Well done Chloe.
