Veseyans travelled to Stourton Park last Sunday with a team made up mainly of Under 17s for the first league game of the Colts’ season. Their lack of experience at this level showed throughout the game as they rarely saw the ball and were unable to deal with either the powerful, efficient Stour pack, or the quick ball supplied to Stour's back line, who ran the ball at the Veseyans defence time and time again.

By half-time, the score was already 59-0 to Stour Colts, 9 points beyond the league’s ceiling and all credit should be given to the Veseyans players who were determined to see the game out until the final whistle, whatever the score. At 93-0, the Referee, decided to call a halt to the game and both sides were cheered off the pitch by both sets of supporters.

This was a very strong performance by Stourbridge Colts, who appreciated the good support they were given from the sideline. They travel to close neighbours Kidderminster this week. It would be great to see some Stour support over there - 2pm KO at Marlpool Lane.
