With 10 changes from the previous week it was inevitable that the Lions would find it tough going against a 2nd place Camp Hill. With less than 4 minutes on the clock the ball was kicked down the wing, a mix up between the Lions full back and winger handed Camp Hill an easy score. A few minutes later Camp Hill won a scrum against the head and moved the ball through the backs to score in the corner. The Camp Hill forwards were in the ascendency and after winning a line out inside the Lions 22 they trundled the ball forward for the Camp Hill prop to touch down. 0 – 19 and only 15 minutes on the clock. Camp Hill scored two further tries before half time with the George Tildsley bagging a consolation penalty to make the half time score 3 – 29.
The second half continued in the same vein with the Camp Hill forward dominant and winning most of the set pieces. However, against the run of play Dan Shrimpton collected a speculative kick to touch down in the corner. 8-29.
Three further tries for Camp Hill produced a final score of 8-48. The Lions can have no complaints, as they were out muscled by stronger forwards and with their normal free flowing backs play hampered by injury and inevitability. The Lions now have a week to lick their wounds before they play Handsworth at home in the penultimate league game of the season.
