Jason Sykes

With the season edging ever nearer we thought it was time to officially announce the exciting news that Jason Sykes has been officially appointed by the Committee as the new Chairman of Stourbridge RFC.
Jason has been a dedicated supporter and player of the Club for many years joining the club in the Under 13s, playing alongside the likes of Tim Grenfell, Andrew Ferguson, Keri Pay and Francis Smith. Jason captained the Hoppers for four seasons and retired from his rugby career the week before his knee replacement in May (Watch this space though as I’m sure he will be making a cameo appearance here and there !!)
Jason wanted to take this opportunity to thank Alf Edwards for stepping in as interim Chair. “I would like to congratulate Alf on his efforts and standing in last year, Alfs hard work and dedication to the Club will continue with his role as Club President for the 2025-26 season and I look forward to working with him and the rest of the committee on making positive changes to the Club” Jason went on to say.
“My vision for this season is to be able to say that we have had five senior teams out at the same time and I am also looking forward to watching the progression of the Panthers under the expert eye of Amy Wigley. With the M&J’s starting to prepare for the new season, there are exciting times ahead at Stourton Park.” Off the field Jasons goals are forward planning, analysing the financial situation and increasing the commercial revenue. He has already hit the ground running!
Congratulations and good luck Mr Chairman.
