A weekend of mixed fortunes for Stourbridge Rugby's Panthers and Colts saw the Panthers face a tough away fixture at Kidderminster Carolians, while the Colts produced an impressive home performance against Droitwich at Stourton Park.

Panthers: Kidderminster Carolians 57 – 7 Stourbridge Panthers

Match report by Gareth Simpson, Panthers Head Coach

The Panthers travelled to Marpool Lane for their first away fixture of the season, facing a Kidderminster Carolians side that has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

With injuries and player availability forcing a makeshift backline, alongside three more Panthers making their debuts, the team knew they faced a challenging afternoon. A special thank you goes to Bromsgrove RFC Ladies for helping us out.

Kidderminster made their intentions clear from the opening whistle, scoring an early try, but the Panthers responded with determination, tackling tirelessly and refusing to let their heads drop.

Despite the 57–7 scoreline, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. Every player gave everything for the shirt, supporting one another throughout and demonstrating tremendous resilience and team spirit.

That determination was rewarded in the second half when sustained pressure from the forwards created an opportunity for Jas Faulkner-Harper to take a quick tap penalty and power over beneath the posts, much to the delight of the travelling supporters. Izzy added the conversion.

Although the result did not go our way, the commitment and togetherness shown by the squad provide plenty to build on as the Panthers continue their season.

Colts: Stourbridge Colts 52 – 0 Droitwich

Stourbridge Colts welcomed Droitwich to Stourton Park on Sunday afternoon and delivered a commanding team performance to secure an impressive 52–0 victory.

With players rotating positions throughout the match, teamwork and adaptability were key to the Colts' success. The squad worked together brilliantly, combining powerful carries, excellent tackling and some well-worked tries.

Despite the scoreline, Droitwich made the Colts work hard for their points, providing a competitive contest and testing the home side throughout.

Every player contributed to a strong all-round team performance, demonstrating the depth, versatility and togetherness within the squad.

The emphatic victory gives the Colts plenty to be proud of as they continue their campaign in the NMCL Premier League.

Thank you to Droitwich for the contest and to everyone who came along to Stourton Park to support the lads.

Looking Ahead – Sunday 18 October

Both the Panthers and Colts are back in action this Sunday as their respective league campaigns continue.

The Panthers return to Stourton Park to face Clee Hill in a 2pm kick-off. After a challenging away fixture last weekend, the squad will be looking to build on the positives from their performance and make the most of home advantage.

Meanwhile, the Colts welcome Hereford for a 2pm kick-off, with the fixture taking place on grass. Following their impressive victory over Droitwich, the lads will be hoping to carry that momentum into another competitive encounter.

We wish both teams the very best of luck this weekend and encourage everyone to get behind our Panthers and Colts.
