Record Number of Achievements This Week!

We were welcomed with fog this week that soon transformed into glorious sunshine which meant that both the micro’s and U6’s were able to concentrate on skills this week which included redesigned relay races which incorporated tackling the donut and sausage. A warm welcome to new coach Rob, who started with the micro’s this week; thanks for your assistance. We welcomed 3 new players this week being Dougie, Beatrice and Dougie; thanks for coming down to SRFC.

We had a record number of recipients of certificates this week across the 2 groups which is fantastic news and a fantastic testament to the attitude of all the players.

This week, the micro’s incorporated tackle bags which meant they were pushing the coaches backwards; this was something that they really enjoyed as part of the redesigned relay races. Other skills worked on this week were passing/catching and dodging through the poles; certificates were awarded this week to (left to right) Thomas (for best try scored), Beatrice (for smiling all the way through the session) and Dougie (for an awesome 1st session.) Well done to all of you.

In the U6’s this week, we concentrated on catching and tagging with the initial diagonal games getting them to concentrate on the speed of their run and the control of the pass. The diagonal tagging game had them working in teams to gain points by tagging the opposition which correlates well with the mini-matches they have been playing in the new year. Certificates in the U6’s were awarded to (left to right) Ben (great tagging), Blake (for having an awesome session), Jack (for teamwork) and Seth for being consistently brilliant every week. Well done to all of you too.
