Spatial awareness and dodging this week

This week’s sessions was concentrating on finding space to run into and dodging; we also introduced the idea of controlling the speed of the run which encouraged the micros to actively wait for space before running.

The jungle run game introduced the idea of dodging a lot of obstacles in a confined space as well whilst incorporating elements of passing and running with the ball also. Over the remainder of the season, we will develop the game to have 2 or 3 octopuses which will teach the micros to look for multiple defenders in front of them instead of just 1.

So this week, we decided to rename the cup as the dodging cup which was won by Sebastian (right) and the listening cup was won by Barney I; both players were fantastic this week so well done.

Special mention to Dylan who gave his own idea to the red arrows game that we used to great effect this week; think we will use the go to jail theme for the remainder of the season!
