It was never going to be a free flowing game, the conditions dictated that, the fierce blowing gale down the pitch meant a kicking game was out of the question, ball in hand was the mantre of the day, and so the battle began, watched by a very healthy attendance from both Stourbridge and Moseley, for this North Mids Cup quarter final. With the wind behind them, and a down hill slope, Stour stuck to the game plan, the guys got into their stride and began scoring tries, followed by conversions, half time, Stourbridge went in with a healthy 26 to nil lead, would this be enough to keep ahead of Moseley's second half effort.
And so the second half began, spurred on by the travelling support our guys dug deep, this was now a battle of attrition, grit, and determination, personal battles against opposition numbers, again, Stour stuck to the now different second half game plan, keep the opposition at bay, get your tackles in, safe hands, explore the fringes, it worked, our Stour guys winning, the final score 10-36, and going through to the North Mids Cup semi finals.
