Congratulations again to the 1st XV who ran out worthy winners against Newport Salop on Saturday and now progress to the next stage of the playoffs against Topsham RFC on Saturday.

The 2nd XV and the Hoppers had a day trip to Shrewsbury on the double decker bus and enjoyed a social afterwards - rugby was definitely the winner!

Well done to the Panthers on their draw at Stourton Park yesterday.

Shrewsbury 50 - Stourbridge 2nd XV 24

An excellent, early interception try by prop star Cal Corcoran had Stourbridge believing, but despite further tries from skipper James Dallison (2) and Fin Weaver, it wasn't to be on a must win day for the Lions. Will Shillingford added the extras with the boot, some excellent strikes. Ethan Gilbert was also a bustling presence, with Jack Miles showing some nice touches and Hayden Link showing excellent form.

Shrewsbury showed their class and clinical edge to win well, but Stour showed that, as ever, they could compete and went toe to toe with the high flying Shropshire side. Young gun and debutant Rudi Salisbury, a second year colt, was outstanding in attack and defence whilst Will Shillingford brought an all court game at fly half. Rudi was voted Stour's MOM by Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury will miss out on promotion narrowly, whilst Stour will await the unfolding permutations and soon discover their league fate, finishing 10th in a 12 team league.
