On Sunday 17th March, Stourbridge U15s were invited by Bridgnorth U15s to have a combined training session, then play a training game with Stafford U15s.
The warm-up and training session went very well with both sets of girls working together well. In the game, despite not having played together before and this being the first fixture that both Stourbridge and Bridgnorth had played in, both sets of girls settled into some great team play, working together brilliantly. Carries, tackling and some great speed on the wings in very boggy conditions created some fantastic team tries. Of particular note was their dominance in the scrums, which unfortunately, they were not allowed to take advantage of.
The more experienced Stafford team, who have played together in fixtures all season, inevitably came out on top on the day, even though we weren't really keeping score. However, The Bridge 15 Girls did everyone proud, kept their heads up to the final whistle and still had smiles on their faces when they came off the pitch. It was perhaps a surprise to all of the opposition that it was our first fixture.
Well done The Bridge 15 Girls, you're a real credit to your Clubs, Coaches and Parents!
