Stourbridge under 10s had some tricks and treats in store for a Halloween weekend visit from Bridgnorth Rugby Club on Sunday November 2.
The Bridgnorth boys were visitors to Stourton Park for some hard-fought matches, which saw players from both clubs trying hard to score past determined defending.
Each club had enough players for two teams, meaning everyone got plenty of game time to show off their skills in the autumn sunshine.
Everyone tried hard and the coaches were impressed by the commitment of all the Stourbridge players.
Coach Mike said: “I thought Bridgnorth were well organised and we had to raise our game. In the first game our lads learned they needed to get to the ball quicker and tackle quicker and they needed to support each other more effectively and they gradually improved throughout the morning.
“In the final game they were much quicker and supportive of each other and more brave in the tackle so after a tough morning of rugby I think our lads have reminded themselves what they can do.”
Coach Mike added he wanted training to continue to focus on tackling and said he had been
impressed by how Stourbridge had rucked over the ball.
He praised Bridgnorth for how quickly they moved the ball and the speed of their attacking play.
