Stourbridge Under 10s v Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove RFC under 10s brought a big squad for the fixture at Stourbridge, which meant, with a couple of borrowed players from the away side, Stourbridge could field two teams for the morning’s rugby.

Players from both clubs were on top form for some excellent play, and the Stourbridge lads demonstrated how much they had learned in training - especially on passing the ball to make the most of opportunities to score.

After the games, Stourbridge coaches spoke of their pride in the players who, along with the Bromsgrove boys, treated spectators to a feast of fine rugby in four hard-fought matches.

Coach Mike said: “Both teams were physical, both teams were strong, I was really proud of a great morning of rugby and really proud our lads participated in that.

Team spirit was really important, I thought we passed the ball around really well, I thought we recognised the Bromsgrove boys were good at tackling and so were very good at making the pass before the tackle or dodging the tackle and using the whole team was a real skill.

When they had the ball I thought we were brave and strong in the tackle so I am really pleased with every single one of our players”.

Coach Mike also highlighted the good spirit among the players on the pitch. He said: “They played rugby with a smile on the faces. If they can play like they did today every Sunday morning they have got a lot of fun playing rugby in front of them”.
