Stourbridge U9 v Bowden 29 March 2014
An unusually beautiful sunny day at Stourton Park greeted Bowden RFC from the Cheshire area, who arrived in a number of coaches.
Bowden brought well over 30 children in their under 9s section, because of this number, our boys enjoyed 4 games. All the games were very entertaining, Bowden were a great team to play, who showed very good skill and sportsmanship. All the games were keenly contested and evenly matched.
The Bowden lead coach was very complimentary regarding our boys play, which was very nice to hear. This fixture was an excellent opportunity for Stourbridge under 9s to test themselves against new opposition, and I am pleased to say that the boys were a credit to Stourbridge.
The progress the under 9s have made this year has been incredible, at the start of the year there were boys who were developing their game and adjusting to the need to tackle and be tackled, but now, I would suggest ALL the boys are playing at a high level, all contributing to the team, tackling, passing, scoring and enjoying their rugby.
Well done boys!
Many Thanks to Bowden for making the journey to Stourbridge, it was a pleasure to play you, and we hope you enjoyed our hospitality.
Hopefully we can make the journey to Cheshire next season.
