6. Our Different Camps at Stourbridge Rugby

Our Community Department deliver array of engagement to the youth of our community including Rugby, Multi-Sports and H.A.F camps!

While our coaches are kept busy throughout term time with their in school provisions, outside of term time we also keep not only ourselves, but the children we work with busy!

This is seen through our sports camps. At Stourbridge Rugby, we deliver incredibly successful rugby camps, where we see children from several clubs make the journey to Stourton Park. With a variety of skills focussed on, we certainly promote positive and attacking play in the game of rugby, whether that be with ball in hand or while defending.

We recently launched our first ever multi-sports camp too! With a mix of sports being on offer, we saw many new faces attend this camp, in addition to several returnees. It was a great experience for all those involved, including our coaches, to get exposure to sports that aren't deemed typical.

In addition to these camps, we have also been exploring Girls Development Days, where we create an environment that promote girls rugby, makes participants feel comfortable and engaged in the sport they love. We work alongside our girls and women's sections to have a few of their players assist in the delivery of these camps.

Our last, and arguably biggest, camps we deliver are the H.A.F camps. Run in partnership with Dudley Council, H.A.F - Holiday Activity & Food Programme - allows children from vulnerable backgrounds and those who otherwise have missed out on experiences due to COVID, to come together and enjoy a fun day full of sports, arts & crafts and confidence building. All while getting a nutritious and tasty lunch too!

The exceptional work our community department does, and the new, inventive strategies they uncover to impact our community positively wouldn’t be possible without being powered by Community Group!
